15 January 2021
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have been discussing the implications of this morning’s ministerial briefing with ISASA and our various Hilton staff and management teams. Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.
With regret, it has become clear that we will be unable to open our campus this weekend as we had planned. Our programme will now move online until such time as we can resume in-person education.
Our plan for the start of term is as follows:
- School for all grades will begin online on the morning of Wednesday, 20 January. A more detailed schedule will be communicated in due course;
- If you are a parent of an international learner who is already in the country and does not have a place to stay until school starts, please contact your son’s House Manager (using this address: HOUSENAME@hiltoncollege.com e.g. churchill@hiltoncollege.com) so that she can make arrangements with you to accommodate your son on campus;
- The Grade 8 orientation programme will also start online on Wednesday next week; details will be circulated. Although these boys will not have access to their official school laptop, we hope that they will be able to login regardless. Should you foresee challenges with connecting online, please contact mya@hiltoncollege.com. For those Grade 8 families who have travelled from far and are already in the province in anticipation of the campus opening next week, we will be able to provide a shortened “meet and greet” on Monday on campus (please RSVP by sending an email to mya@hiltoncollege.com)
Once again, I am sorry about all the upheaval that this has caused. We look forward to having all our boys back on campus but will need to hold tight for the time being.
Kind regards,
George Harris
Headmaster
