The Hiltonian Travel Service
The Hiltonian Travel Service was conceived of by Old Hiltonian Craig Goodenough (1988, Churchill), the owner of XL Howick Travel and Bundu Bashers. Created as a mechanism to give back to the school, the Hiltonian Travel Service pays a percentage of its profits to the Hiltonian Society Bursary Fund.
Established in 2012, the initiative has been a resounding success, adding considerably to the bursary fund.
Over the past decade, members of staff, parents of Hilton boys, friends of Hilton and Old Hiltonians, in SA and abroad, have supported The Hiltonian Travel Service by entrusting to it their travel arrangements.
Whether you need to travel for business or leisure, you are guaranteed competitive prices and excellent service, and the satisfaction of knowing that you have contributed to our school’s bursary fund.
Depending on your travel requirements, your booking may be handled by XL Howick Travel or Bundu Bashers, but the benefit goes to the school, through the Hiltonian Travel Service.

A Farm Life was our families dream; moving from the hustle and bustle of the city to now experiencing natural beauty, rolling hills and tranquility. We have begun this journey in the Midlands Meander, just 12km from Howick on the Curry’s Post Road. With a small dam, a gentle stream and an island hidden amongst the trees- this is A Farm Life. We have two guest rooms aptly named SuperMoo and Bambi after our first 4-legged farm children. Each has a queen size bed fitted with crisp white linen and a warm duvet.
We have been told that it snows every year on our farm and is generally 4˚C colder than Howick. Do not worry the heaters will keep you snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug. The bathroom has a good pressure shower straight from our borehole. The water is so pure you can drink straight from the tap. Fluffy white bath sheets are provided. Hot chocolate, tea and coffee are waiting for you – go on, dip in that Angel nougat biscuit. The DSTV can entertain but I am sure the hammock on your verandah will be far more appealing. I am picturing a smidge of complimentary Sherry and the Midlands Meander magazine.
A Farm Life is accommodation only, there are no kitchen facilities. For scrummy breakfast options, visit our neighbours at Mulberry Hill Pancakes or meander 2km’s up the road to the popular Terbodore Coffee Roasters. I suggest trying their ‘Tin Cup’ made with condensed milk. We support local therefore the guest rooms have their own fridge each stocked with Terbodore filter coffee, Notties craft beer, Indezi cheeses and yoghurt, Midlands Speciality cold meats, Merrivale dry wors, Romanesco olives, Peels Honey sesame brittle, Florentine Belgium chocolates and more. All the fridge items are available on an honesty basis.
Cycling enthusiasts are able to securely store their bicycles in the courtyard. Each room has their own entrance and plenty of parking. We have our security patrolling from 6pm to 6am for your added peace of mind. Busy children can run free, catch a crab down at the stream or climb the highest tree, ride their bikes, hunt for chickens eggs or even bottle-feed SuperMoo and Bambi.
