Exclusive to Ellis House, Hilton College
Every House at the boys’ school, Hilton College, in the KZN Midlands, has a bronze sculpture mascot at the entrance to the building- except Ellis House! This has now been resolved by the Matric Boys of 2024 and a few dedicated parents. They now have ‘Harambee’, a symbol of strength and fortitude, he leads the Boys forward, and guards their home while they live at school.
This was something many of the Ellis old boys over the years had always wanted. This initiative included the sale of ‘Harambee’ paperweights at the Fleur-de-Lys Club, ensuring ongoing support for Ellis House. A portion of these sales goes towards any future renovations to enhance the learning environment for future students.
