Junior MBA & entrepreneurship (JEMBA)
Fulfilling a dream, creating employment, meeting a need. These are some of the DNA strands within every entrepreneur. Hands-on application and understanding of what it really means to run a business can point young minds in a direction they never before imagined.
The course is founded on the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Graduate School of Business (GSB) Executive MBA programme – currently ranked among the top 50 programmes in the world – and draws on the EMBA.
Sustainability Matters: Opportunities within the green economy
A green economy is central to a better life for all. Understanding the possibilities that are waiting and the skills young individuals need to harness these are the backbone of this module. The Sustainability Matters: Introduction to Sustainability programme will cover in interesting detail key themes in understanding sustainability as a global, local and personal challenge, interweaving issues of environmental and social justice.
The programme consists of roughly 10 hours of preparatory work, a 14-day in-person journey, and follow-up work to wrap up the module. The goal is to encourage reflective and responsive engagement with the materials, activities and encounters.
Skills for the 4th Industrial Revolution
We know that robots may help us get to where we want to be faster, but they can’t be as creative as humans (yet). Similarly, emotional intelligence is set to be one of the primary skills used by all industry leaders and influencers. The 4th Industrial Revolution is likely to be particularly disruptive because instead of being marked by technological advances, it is concerned with advances in communication and connectivity; technologies with the potential to connect billions more people to the web, significantly enhancing business efficiencies, regenerating environments and improving asset management techniques.

University-entrance and subject-selection strategy
By mapping out critical decisions right from the start, learners can ensure they are ready to access the future they’d like to be a part of. This course will help develop the expertise necessary to apply to the world’s best universities – from Ivy League colleges in the USA to Russell Group universities in the UK and other leading universities across Australia, Europe, Asia and Canada.
Public speaking, communication and personal branding
You are your brand. How you communicate is critical to your success. Today so many of us are able to create a space for ourselves digitally, but in-person connection remains the most powerful way to build understanding and relationship. Public speaking is without a doubt a skill that can be used to empower young people, and actively change lives for the better. Hilton College has consistently produced public speakers of a high calibre. Experts in the field of personal branding will lead this module. Now is the time to find your voice.
French as a second language
French is spoken by 141 million African people and millions more globally, making it a language that can open up the world. As we continue to evolve as global citizens, language continues to propel us forward beyond cultural boundaries, enabling industries to thrive. Graduates of modern language degrees remain an asset across business sectors, spearheading roles that extend well beyond interpretation and translation to encompass all elements of business transaction, international cooperation and politics. This course is designed for learners who have never had formal French language lessons.
