Top Matric Schools Art Exhibition
9 artworks were submitted to the selection board at the annual Top Matric Schools Art Exhibition at the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg, and 5 works were selected for display.

  • An oil painting by Dale Coleman of Nguni cattle
  • A pen and ink self-portrait by Aaron Pugsley-Rattray
  • A photographic series of feet by Don Robertson (This 10 part photographic piece was nominated the most outstanding artwork at the Tatham Gallery's School Exhibition.)
  • A self-portrait by Simon Ellis
  • A mixed media work by Jean Swart

The Durban Art Gallery's Annual School Exhibition
After their success with the selection of their art for the Tatham Gallery's School Art Exhibition, the curator of The Durban Art Gallery selected the work of Don Robertson and Jean Swart for display at The Durban Art Gallery's annual School Exhibition. This exhibition ran for 6 weeks. 

Royal Show Photographic Exhibition
At the Royal Show Photographic Exhibition, 4 pupils achieved great success:
David Rios won 2 First and 2 Special prizes
Christopher Taylor won 2 First and 2 Second prizes
Kyle Reed won I Second and I Special prize
Don Robertson won 7 First and 5 Special Prizes. 

Don also won the HIRSCH TROPHY for the BEST PHOTOGRAPH IN THE 15 -18 YEAR CATEGORY

At the National Creative Arts Youth Festival Art competition held at the Durban Institute of Technology
Ross Macphail was the runner-up in the Grade 11 section and Brodie Robertson was the runner-up in the Grade 10 section

The Fujifilm National Schools' Photographic Competition
Several boys entered their photographs into The Fujifilm National Schools' Photographic Competition held in Johannesburg recently.  David Rios won 3rd Prize in the Digital Manipulation Section and Don Robertson received a Merit Certificate in the Colour Photography Section.

Sean Conway Trophy for Photography
Shared by David Rios and Don Robertson for their success at various competitions and exhibitions throughout the year.

Rotary Club of Durban School Art Exhibition
At the Rotary Club of Durban School Art Exhibition held at Kearsney College, Steffan Coetzee won 3rd prize for his oil pastel Self-Portrait.  This was a remarkable achievement when you consider that his work was judged against Grade 12 work.
